WILKINSON SWORD JUNIOR OPEN

Monday the 19th August saw a windy and testing day once again at Leeds Golf Club as has been the theme this year for our major competitions such as the Cobble Hall Scratch, Leeds Amateur Cup, Leeds Cup and the Wilkinson Sword Junior Championships. In increase in the field from last year saw some good scoring and some great shotmaking. After all was said and done Sandmoor Golf Club's Amaan Iqbal who took the Gross prize and Ripon City Golf Club's William Hixon won the Nett prize. Lots of positive feedback came from all the players even those whose score did not quite reflect their true ability. The Wilkinson Sword Junior Championships have been competed for since the late 1970's with a number of players going on to ply their trade on the likes of the European Tour.
